Organizations Speak Out on ESEA/NCLB Reauthorization: Statements from 2007 – 2009

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) is up for reauthorization this year. It has been at the center of discussion among key stakeholders in the education community, in addition to organizations including civic, civil rights, business, think-tanks, faith-based, community-based, parent, and other activist organizations. NCLB has clearly generated much more "voice" and response than when the Act was passed in 2002. As a service to keep activists informed of what national organizations are thinking, Public Education Network is posting their NCLB positions as they are received by PEN. PEN recognizes the importance of the public in keeping informed about the discussion, and the importance of citizens to take part in one of the most important federal education acts.
